Easy Breakfast Porridge Recipes

Looking for an easy breakfast that will get you ready for the day ahead? Porridge is a great option as it is quick and easy, and you can make your own flavours with just a few added ingredients.

Using Canadian pure maple syrup as an extra ingredient, these recipes are sure to go down a treat!

Porridge Ingredients:

  • 50g porridge oats
  • 190ml milk
  • Pure maple syrup
  • Amber rich

Spiced Apple Porridge:

Using the above ingredients, just add the following to make an easy breakfast.

  • 1 small apple, finely grated. Reserve a few slices to decorate (if you wish)
  • 20g sultanas
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon mixed spice
  • Splash of cream
  • Handful of peacans

To make: place porridge oats, milk, grated apple, spices and sultanas into a saucepan over a medium heat. Make sure you stir regularly. Allow the mixture to simmer for 10 minutes until it is thick and creamy. Serve with the reserved apple slices, peacans, cream, and maple syrup.

Peanut Butter & Banana Porridge:

Use the porridge ingredients, adding the following for a quick and easy breakfast.

  • 1/2 banana, sliced
  • Peanut butter for drizzling
  • 1 teaspoon mixed seeds

To make: place porridge oats and milk into a saucepan over a medium heat. Make sure you stir regularly. Allow the mixture to simmer for 10 minutes until it is thick and creamy. Serve with the sliced banana, peanut butter, mixed seeds and maple syrup.

Carrot Cake Porridge:

Use the porridge ingredients, and add the following for a tasty, easy breakfast.

  • 1 small carrot, peeled and finely grated
  • 20g sultanas
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Handful of walnuts

To make: place porridge oats, milk, grated carrot, cinnamon, nutmeg and sultanas into a saucepan over a medium heat. Make sure you stir regularly. Allow the mixture to simmer for 10 minutes until it is thick and creamy. Serve with the walnuts and maple syrup.
